5. Subscription Fee

You are able to set the subscription fee for your application in this configuration. You can set up to 5 charging plans with different subscription periods, prices and specify which one is available for free trial.

Subscription Fee

If your app is free to install, please select "Free to install" and save the changes. You can pass the following configuration steps.

If your app is recurring charged by specified periods, please select "Recurring charge" and you can do the following configuration of the plans and prices.

Plan Model

Please click "Add Plan" to add your first subscription plan.

Then, enter the plan name and description. Click "Save" to save your configuration and create the new plan.

The Plan has been created and you can also edit or delete the plan.

Plan & Prices (Free Trial)

Set subscription prices for your plans separately. You can set different prices for different subscription cycles or offer a 14-days free trial to boost the merchant's willingness to use.

Contact developer before app installation and subscription
The price field is left blank, the app will not be available for installation and subscription, and a "Contact us" button will appear on the Apps Store.
Merchants can contact the developer by sending the email to discuss their needs or contact SHOPLINE for help via Intercom. Please refer to Advanced Settings - Contact information for additional settings.

Your awesome app can be sold all over the world only after you set a price for it. You can create up to five paid plans to meet different customer groups' feature needs and budgets and base on below recurring logic.

Annual and monthly plans will be gradually migrated to a fixed cycle by default, adopting the natural month (1st of every month) or natural year (January 1st of every year) as the billing start and end dates.
Prorated billing protection: If the default renewal cycle exceeds the store's (SHOPLINE) master contract expiration date, the system will automatically shorten the cycle and charge proportionally.

3.For example, if the final period is less than a full month/year, the fee will be calculated based on the actual calendar days.

Please note that this change will not affect existing subscriptions end date but will take effect from the next recurring cycle onward.

Previously, you had to choose between a "100% Free App" or "Paid-Only Multiple Plans."

Now, you can fully implement a Freemium business model after whitelisted. By offering a basic free tier alongside your paid plans, you can significantly lower the barrier to entry for merchants and create stronger opportunities for future upsells.

You can offer your free plan globally ("All Regions") or restrict it to specific target markets to align with your global marketing strategies

App Store Visibility

In the App Store, if an app offers a free tier, merchants will see a clear “Free plan available” tag designed to attract attention and encourage smoother, higher-converting installations.

Installation and Subscription Process

Subscribing to a free plan is quick and does not require credit card authorization or payment steps.
Go to the app’s details page and click “Install Now.”
After installation, navigate to the pricing plan selection page, find the “Free Plan” option, select it to subscribe. The system will automatically skip the checkout and payment process.
Once the success message appears, your app is activated and ready to use immediately.

Custom subscription plan & price
If your app will offers custom plan and prices for different merchants, i.e. set one-off lifetime charge or additional service fee for merchants. Please contact SHOPLINE partnership team to whitelist your app and refer to Custom Bill.

Service Fee

When merchants subscribe to the app, they need to authorize payment for the fees specified by SHOPLINE to make a successful subscription. The fees may include one-time installation fees and regular maintenance fees. Please note that the following fees are set and collected by the SHOPLINE official team, and you cannot modify them.
